сущ. ширстрек - верхний пояс наружной обшивки борта судна. Листы ширстрека утолщаются (на 20 — 40%) по сравнению с остальными поясами обшивки, т. к. ширстрек является одной из основных продольных связей корпуса, испытывающей наибольшую нагрузку при общем и косом изгибе судна на волнении. Соединение ширстрека с верхней палубой раньше было клепаным на угольниках, теперь или клепаное с применением стрингерной полосы, или сварное без промежуточных элементов. -
